The Medieval Garden

In the Middle Ages, priories and abbeys had the function of welcoming, accommodating and teaching. Did the Saint-Thibault priory have a medieval garden on its hillside built according to the rules of Hildegarde de Bingen, Benedictine abbess of the 12th century?

 

Flora Gallica for educational purposes, decided to set up on this medieval Drouais site an enclosed garden with simple natives, pots of aromatic herbs, dyes, cereals of yesteryear, facing the ramparts of the castle and the old town of Dreux.
